The Bahamas Ranked Among Top 10 Weekend Getaways in U.S. News & World Report Best Vacations Ranking

The Bahamas has once again earned global recognition, ranking tenth among the Best Weekend Getaways in and Around the U.S. in the U.S. News and World Report 2026 Best Vacations rankings.

Located just 50 miles off the coast of South Florida, The Bahamas offers convenient access, diverse recreational experiences and high-quality accommodations for short stays. As of July 2026, more than 30 nonstop routes served Nassau from nine source countries, with direct service also connecting travellers to Out Island gateways, including Abaco, Eleuthera and Exuma.

The Bahamas also ranked second for Best Family Vacations in the Caribbean and fourth for Best Beaches in the World. The destination received additional recognition for its Caribbean beaches, summer family vacations and destination wedding offerings.

With more than 700 islands and cays and 16 unique island destinations, The Bahamas gives visitors the freedom to experience luxury resorts and vibrant culture in Nassau, coastal retreats in Grand Bahama and secluded beaches throughout the Out Islands.
