In today's corporate landscape, physical gatherings are mission-critical moments. As organizations optimize their real estate footprints, they increasingly rely on premium, hospitality-driven venues for executive offsites, investor summits, conferences, and high-impact brand activations.
For years, Convene relied on an enterprise sales strategy with dedicated account managers supporting client needs within their home countries. This centralized model drove our initial growth when our product line was consistent across locations.
With the launch of Convene Hospitality Group (CHG) and its multi-brand portfolio—ranging from turnkey day meetings at etc.venues to large-scale conferences at Convene and bespoke activations at upcoming special events venues like The Mallory and The Aperture—we outgrew a purely regional sales structure.
We’re officially evolving from an enterprise sales structure to a unified Global Sales Strategy.
This evolution is driven by changing client needs. Today's event leaders look for strategic supplier partnerships to maximize value across their event portfolios. Master Service Agreements (MSAs), which reward clients with preferred terms and pricing in exchange for annual spend commitments, are at an all-time high, with clients centrally planning their global event calendars alongside our teams.
With ~40 venues across major US and UK markets, CHG has expanded beyond a regional meeting provider into a multi-brand hospitality ecosystem capable of supporting clients' global strategies.
Exciting developments include:
When a Fortune 500 company hosts their Sales Kick Off at 30 Hudson Yards in Q1, an immersive brand experience at The Aperture in Q2, and an international developer conference at Convene Rathbone in Q3, forcing them to navigate separate regional sales reps creates unnecessary friction. A global footprint deserves a global sales approach to smooth the client journey and add value for both the client and CHG.
The Power of the Global Sales Organization (GSO)
Central to this strategy is the Director of Global Accounts, serving as a single strategic partner for enterprise executives, event planners, and procurement leads. While the GSO oversees strategic relationships and portfolio agreements, local venue sales managers act as subject matter experts on-site—managing event agreements and local logistics and relationships, such as our hotel partnerships program.
Global accounts are qualified based on annual spend, multi-market volume, and MSA partnerships. Accounts requiring regional support will be partnered with our dedicated National Accounts team.
Following a successful Q3 2026 GSO pilot with select accounts, CHG expects to support over 100 global accounts by early 2027, with communications regarding transitions rolling out in the coming weeks. By 2027, top agency and channel partners will also integrate into the GSO structure to streamline partner alignment.
Transitioning clients can expect three core benefits:
This model is an investment in client success, adding dedicated Global and National Account Directors while expanding regional operational support. This matrix structure pairs central account alignment with deep, on-the-ground local expertise across major markets like New York, London, Chicago, and Philadelphia. Clients gain the buying power and ease of a global partnership alongside authentic, local hospitality execution.
Aligning commercial strategy with modern procurement behaviors increases account retention, unlocks cross-market revenue, and elevates overall client value.
As CHG expands in the US and UK, unifying global accounts while leveraging local expertise ensures we continue redefining enterprise hospitality.
