Vienna / Frankfurt, August, 5th — Compass Tours Incoming (CTI), one of the longest-established destination management companies for Germany and Austria, has opened an operations location in Vienna. It is the company's first physical base in Austria and complements its offices in Berlin, Munich and Frankfurt.
Why Vienna, and why now
International buyers increasingly combine German and Austrian destinations within a single itinerary, and Austria has become a steadily larger share of CTI's incoming business. A physical base in Vienna shortens distances for site inspections, supplier meetings and on-site coordination that previously required travel from Munich.
"Austria has never been a side market for us," says Michael Kater, MD of CTI. "We are opening in Vienna the way we open everything: one step at a time, and only when the business is genuinely there. This is the beginning of a longer commitment, not a finished structure."
Further development of the location will be decided in line with how the Austrian business develops.
For clients, nothing changes in day-to-day contact. Austrian requests continue to be handled by the established CTI contacts in Munich, with the same team, the same processes and the same points of contact.

Alongside its MICE business, CTI operates an in-house leisure department, allowing the company to take on both large-scale conference and incentive programmes and smaller, high-touch requests with the same standards. CTI is also the official German partner of Virtuoso and Signature Travel Network under its "Unique Germany" brand.
A significant share of CTI's business comes from the pharmaceutical and medical sector, where compliance requirements shape every element of a programme, from venue selection to hospitality spend. CTI maintains a curated portfolio of healthcare-compliant venues and restaurants across Germany, vetted against current industry codes. Extending that portfolio to Austria is part of the plan for the Vienna location.
