CLEVELAND, Ohio — September 3, 2026 — The Westin Cleveland Downtown announced the completion of a full hotel renovation, marking a major milestone in the property’s evolution as it celebrates over 50 years in downtown Cleveland. Blending the legacy of a longtime city landmark with a fresh new design vision, the transformation introduces fully renovated guestrooms, suites and meeting spaces, ushering in what can best be described as the rebirth of a Cleveland legend.
The completed renovation includes all 484 guestrooms and suites as well as 21,000 square feet of meeting and pre-function space, rounding out a broader property-wide reinvestment that has also included a refreshed lobby and arrival experience, along with the debut of Masa & Agave and Market 216 in 2024 and 2025.
With this next chapter, The Westin Cleveland Downtown remains the same trusted destination in the heart of the city, now reimagined with a renewed sense of style, comfort and connection for today’s traveler and meeting planner.
Inspired by Cleveland’s Metroparks and surrounding greenspaces, the redesigned guestrooms feature a calming palette of soft taupes and layered greens, creating a serene, nature-influenced retreat in the center of downtown. Refreshed finishes, enhanced lighting and modern design details throughout the rooms and corridors bring a brighter, more contemporary feel while staying true to Westin’s wellness-centric philosophy of rest, focus and rejuvenation.
The hotel’s newly completed meeting and event spaces were designed to elevate both productivity and experience. The refreshed venues offer a sophisticated, versatile backdrop for conferences, corporate meetings and social events, with an updated aesthetic that balances clean, natural tones with striking lighting and updated finishes. The transformation reinforces The Westin Cleveland Downtown’s position as a premier destination for gatherings in the city, offering planners a polished setting that feels both energizing and effortless.
“This renovation is not simply about refreshing a hotel; it’s about redefining what The Westin Cleveland Downtown will be for the next generation of guests,” said David Bodette, General manager. “For more than 50 years, this property has welcomed travelers to the heart of our city, and we're proud of the role it has played in Cleveland's story. As we look ahead, we're blending that legacy with a renewed commitment to well-being, service, and experiences that allow people to connect, collaborate, and feel genuinely cared for. We believe the best days of this landmark hotel are still ahead of us.”
The completed renovation builds on a series of recent enhancements across the hotel. In addition to the guestroom and meeting space transformation, the property has introduced a brighter, more welcoming lobby and arrival experience designed to create a stronger first impression from the moment guests walk through the door. In 2024, the hotel debuted Masa & Agave, its reimagined signature restaurant featuring modern Mexican-inspired cuisine and a refined tequila and mezcal program, joined by Market 216 in 2025, a refreshed marketplace offering convenient, high-quality options with locally inspired selections for guests on the go. Together, these additions help define a more cohesive and elevated arrival, dining and stay experience throughout the property.
The Westin Cleveland Downtown enters its next era with a renewed sense of purpose—honoring its place in the city’s story while delivering a fully refreshed experience for guests, groups and event planners alike. In a city built on reinvention, a Cleveland legend has been reborn.
