Mario Bass was appointed President & CEO of Visit San Antonio June 2025 after serving as Interim President & CEO since April 2025. Most recently, Mario served as Executive Vice President & Chief Strategy Officer since returning to the organization in July 2024, having previously thrived for over five years, with his previous role as Chief Sales Officer.

As President & CEO, Mario is a leading figure in San Antonio’s $21.5 billion tourism and hospitality industry, one of the top five (5) largest business sectors in the community. San Antonio ranks as the top tourism destination in Texas, attracting more than 37 million visitors in 2023. Initially, Mario’s strategic focus will be to continue growing the city as a leading leisure and convention destination by strengthening Visit San Antonio’s core mission of sales and marketing.
