In a city steeped in history, another chapter is being written with the expansion of the Savannah Convention Center. The state-of-the-art waterfront facility is doubling in size and adding new features that benefit planners and attendees alike.
The 660,000-square-foot Convention Center is currently open and has 200,000 square feet of exhibit space, an additional 40,000-square-foot ballroom, 32 total breakout meeting rooms, a partially covered rooftop patio, a 58-foot-wide hanger door, a facility entrance with an all-glass facade and 900 parking spaces. The LEED Gold-certified center also has a noteworthy number of sustainability initiatives. The venue offers affordability and low IT costs and is buyout-friendly. And in a nod to the city’s distinguished art and period architecture, pieces by local artists adorn the center.
The Convention Center features an award-winning culinary team offering a diverse menu for groups ranging from intimate business meetings to conventions of 10,000 people. The center is a proud member of Georgia Grown, a statewide network of farmers and suppliers, which has allowed the ability to provide catering options that incorporate fresh, local and sustainable options to attendees when available.
The Westin Savannah Harbor Golf Resort & Spa is adjacent to the Savannah Convention Center and offers 403 renovated guest rooms and 35,000 square feet of on-site event space.
Just a 3-minute Savannah Belles Water Ferry ride — a complimentary service for groups — across the Savannah River sits an abundance of accommodations, including the 391-room Marriott Savannah Riverfront and its over 40,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor venue space, 351-room Hyatt Regency with 33,000 square feet of meeting space, JW Marriott Savannah Plant Riverside District with 419 rooms and 18,050 square feet of event space, and The Alida Savannah, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, offering 151 individually designed guest rooms, 21 suites and 7,054 total square feet of event space.
Some of our luxe hotel options include Perry Lane Hotel, an AAA Four-Diamond hotel with 167 elegant guest rooms and 9,195 square feet of indoor and outdoor event space, and the new Hotel Bardo, a mansion in Forsyth Park turned into a 149-room urban resort with over 10,000 square feet of venue space.
