Thirty-nine rooms, and the feeling of a private home. The Bower sits directly across from the historic Hotel del Coronado, on one of the most enviable addresses in the Village, yet it is a world away the moment you step inside. Orange Avenue hums outside the doors. Within, there is a living room with a stone fireplace, a garden courtyard, and a quiet that feels closer to zen than to a hotel lobby.
The house is built for both ends of the guest list. For two, it is an intimate stay with a balcony or a planted lanai and the beach a short walk away. For a group, it becomes your own: take a private floor, or take all thirty-nine rooms, the living room, the courtyard and Dive, Coronado's only rooftop, in a full buyout with no outside guests.
Guests and groups alike can arrive in style, crossing San Diego Bay aboard a hand-crafted 1931 Chris-Craft triple-cockpit runabout as the sun goes down. From there, Coronado is yours on foot: sun-drenched beaches, the island's best dining and its local boutiques are all steps from the door.
The Bower is a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), the first hotel in Coronado to join the collection.
