Akron Travel provided comprehensive destination management, operational and logistical support for Défi d’Elles, a French women-focused outdoor sports and adventure event held in North Evia, Greece.
Bringing together around 100 women, the multi-day event combined mountain running, mountain biking, mixed running and cycling challenges, water activities and a HYROX-style fitness competition, with Club Med Gregolimano serving as the main event base.
Akron managed the complex on-the-ground requirements of the event, including:
• Route and terrain planning across North Evia
• Coordination with Police, Forestry Department and local authorities
• Transportation for athletes, volunteers and event staff
• 4x4 operational support in remote mountain areas
• Establishment and servicing of refreshment stations
• Assistance in reopening mountain roads affected by adverse weather
• Audio-visual and technical support
• Supplier and local community coordination
• On-site logistics, safety support and contingency management
Beyond sport, the event promoted women’s empowerment, solidarity, breast cancer awareness and environmental responsibility, making it an experience with a strong social and sustainable dimension.
This project demonstrates Akron Travel’s ability to deliver complex sporting, outdoor and experiential events in Greece, combining destination expertise, operational flexibility and hands-on event management.
