The Detroit area has two major convention centers that are industry leaders in innovation and sustainability for meetings that exceed expectations.
Huntington Place Convention Center
Detroit’s stewardship of the environment plays a big role in our local venues. Downtown’s Huntington Place is LEED Gold Certified, with a 10,000-square-foot living green roof that is home to both herb gardens and honeybee hives. Indoors, it’s filled with natural light, uses water-saving fixtures and has other overall energy reduction enhancements including HVAC and lighting controls. It offers five exhibit halls, 80 meeting rooms and eight banquet rooms with amazing Detroit River views. It also features 45,000 feet of outdoor flex space, so you can take your reception outdoors.
Suburban Collection Showplace
Suburban Collection Showplace was designed for first-class exhibitions, with over 30,000 square feet of flexible event space, 20 -foot ceilings and the conveniently attached Hyatt Place Detroit/Novi. Sustainability is a priority. A robust recycling program, low-use aerators in all sinks and faucets and working with local foodbanks to distribute unused food are just a few of the measures taken to minimize Suburban Collection showplace’s impact on the environment.
