Calgary’s premier meetings and convention venue, the BMO Centre opened in June 2024 and is now Western Canada’s largest convention centre, purpose-built to host major conventions and events on a global scale. A division of the Calgary Stampede, the BMO Centre is located on the south side of Downtown Calgary within the vibrant Stampede Park.
With one million square feet of total floor space, the BMO Centre offers 500,000 square feet of saleable space alongside 500,000 square feet of pre-function and back-of-house space. The venue features 350,000 square feet of contiguous exhibit space and 150,000 square feet of meeting space, including three ballrooms measuring 12,000, 20,000 and 50,000 square feet, with the 50,000-square-foot ballroom being the largest in Calgary.
The BMO Centre is designed to be both ample and adaptable, providing the flexibility required for large-scale international congresses. Meeting rooms are equipped for seamless connectivity, while flexible breakout and pre-function spaces create opportunities for collaboration, networking, and meaningful human connection.
Beyond the meeting rooms, outdoor spaces invite delegates to experience Calgary’s unique setting, diverse amenities, and renowned western hospitality. Combined with the broader attractions and agricultural heritage of Stampede Park, the BMO Centre offers delegates an experience that extends well beyond the convention floor.
Calgary’s hotel landscape continues to grow alongside the BMO Centre at Stampede Park. The Autograph Collection Hotel on Stampede Park is expected to open in 2028, bringing 320 rooms and a full range of meeting, dining, and leisure amenities just steps from the BMO Centre. Further investment in the Culture + Entertainment District will see the W Calgary expected to open in 2029 and JW Marriott Calgary in 2030, adding more than 400 additional premium hotel rooms and expanding Calgary’s luxury accommodation offering. Together, these developments will further strengthen the destination’s ability to accommodate major international congresses while providing delegates with a greater range of high-quality accommodation, dining, and experiences within close proximity of Stampede Park.
