About the Speaker/Moderator

Juanita Unger is the founder of The NA Sommelier, a Seattle-based consultancy and experience design company. She helps venues, restaurants and event professionals develop thoughtful non-alcoholic beverage programs. Her work also reaches consumers through mobile bar services, curated tastings and mocktail classes.

Her portfolio includes non-alcoholic programming for West Seattle Summerfest and restaurants such as James Beard-nominated Communion. She has taught with PCC Community Markets, Aramark and the U.S. Bartenders’ Guild; curated Seattle Uncorked: The Big Taste and Pike Place Sunset Supper; and judged Wilderton’s No & Lo Beverage Competition.

The NA Sommelier was named Best Artisan Food Vendor at the Bite of Seattle and has been featured in the New York Post, Seattle Magazine, AFTER Magazine, Sound Consumer, New Day Northwest, KOMO and ARC Network. Juanita brings a firsthand perspective shaped by two decades in hospitality and five years alcohol-free.

Outside work, Juanita is a fluent Spanish speaker who enjoys exploring new places and dancing, from ballet to Baltic folk dance.
