Jerry Hershberger | Creator & Builder, TreeBox

Jerry Hershberger is the creator and builder behind TreeBox, a collection of distinctive retreats rooted in the craftsmanship, simplicity, and sense of community found throughout Ohio’s Amish Country.

Drawing from Amish building traditions and a deep appreciation for the land, Jerry approaches hospitality differently. For him, a property is not simply a place to stay. It should be a place where people gather, slow down, share meals, reconnect, and experience the value of thoughtful design and genuine human connection.

His hands-on approach can be seen throughout the TreeBox experience, from the character of the buildings and natural surroundings to the spaces intentionally created for families, leadership teams, corporate groups, and private retreats. That same builder’s mindset gives TreeBox an unusual advantage: programs and spaces can often be adapted around the needs of the people using them rather than forcing every group into a predetermined format.

Jerry brings something increasingly rare to modern hospitality: craftsmanship, resourcefulness, authenticity, and the willingness to create something specifically for the guest.

“If we don’t have what you need, just ask. I’ll build it.”
