Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit, Mexico, August 26, 2026 – The VidantaWorld Mexico Open has unveiled the highlights of its 2026 edition, which marks the official PGA Tour event's return to the fall. This year's field brings together big-name champions, established players, rising talent and a strong lineup of Mexican players, alongside a new course layout, refreshed hospitality experiences and entertainment that runs all week long.
From October 29 to November 1, a 120-player field will compete at VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit for a $6 million purse and 500 FedExCup points. The lineup includes major champions with seven major titles between them, the defending VidantaWorld Mexico Open champion, multiple PGA Tour winners, a member of Europe's winning Ryder Cup team and some of the brightest young talents in the game.
"This year's field shows how far the VidantaWorld Mexico Open has come. We'll have great champions, multiple PGA Tour winners, players at pivotal moments in their careers, a new generation of international talent and a strong Mexican presence. It's a mix that promises a week of outstanding competition and will help us keep building Mexico's place on the PGA Tour," said Ángel Gómez, Corporate Director of VidantaWorld Golf.
Leading the 2026 field are Wyndham Clark, two-time U.S. Open champion and six-time PGA Tour winner; Tony Finau, 2023 Mexico Open champion and six-time PGA Tour winner; Lucas Glover, U.S. Open champion and six-time Tour winner; and Brian Campbell, who returns to VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit as defending Mexico Open champion and two-time PGA Tour winner.
They're joined by three-time PGA Tour winners Ben Griffin, Akshay Bhatia and Nico Echavarria, six-time Tour winner Max Homa, and Rasmus Højgaard, a member of Europe's winning 2025 Ryder Cup team. Griffin also played for the U.S. at the 2025 Ryder Cup, while Bhatia and Echavarria arrive fresh off 2026 wins at the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Cognizant Classic, respectively.
The 2026 edition also makes room for some of the names shaping golf's future. Blades Brown, the youngest medalist in U.S. Amateur history; Ryder Cowan, low amateur at the 2026 U.S. Open; and
John Daly Jr., 2025 Southern Amateur champion, will get the chance to compete alongside established players on an official PGA Tour stage.
This blend of experience and youth once again makes Mexico a meeting point for international talent on the PGA Tour calendar. To view detailed profiles, rankings, and career highlights of all confirmed stars, explore the official VidantaWorld Mexico Open player lineup.
Mexican golfers will once again play a prominent role at the 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open.
Álvaro Ortiz, winner of the 2026 UNC Health Championship; Omar Morales, 2025 Big Ten champion and two-time U.S. Open qualifier; and Santiago de la Fuente, 2024 Latin America Amateur Championship winner, will all be in the field.
They'll be joined by Mauricio Figueroa and Alejandro Fierro, who earned their spots by winning the 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open Monday Qualifier.
Together, these five players reflect one of the tournament's core goals: giving Mexican talent the chance to compete at the highest level and showcase their game to an international audience.
The 2026 edition will also introduce a new routing, designed to sharpen the competition and enhance the overall tournament experience.
Holes 18, 9, 1 and 10 will now sit within a single quadrant, creating a more compact competitive core without compromising the course's overall design. The new configuration will improve tournament flow, operations and broadcast sightlines, while keeping the challenge and strategy expected of a PGA Tour venue.
The finish will remain anchored by the par-4 18th, while the placement of holes 1 and 10 will allow for more efficient starts and easier movement throughout the week.
The new layout also opens up fresh possibilities for how fans experience the competition.
New Ways to Watch
The 2026 hospitality program offers several ways to get closer to the action, including Hole 17-4 Hospitality, Hole 17 Cabanas, Eagle Share and Albatross, within the Champion Zone.
At the 17th, a stadium-style venue will give guests a place to follow one of the round's decisive moments, with gourmet dining and a curated selection of drinks.
Eagle Share brings tee shots and fairway action on the 1st hole together with round-closing moments on the 18th green, all from one space.
Albatross makes the most of the new routing, set right where holes 1, 10, 9 and 18 converge. From one spot, guests can watch players warm up and tee off on No. 1, start their rounds on No. 10, hit their approaches into the 9th green and close out on the 18th.
The space also overlooks the putting green and offers a prime view of one of the tournament's signature moments: players arriving by boat along the Ameca River, all paired with premium food and drinks. Secure your access to these premium hospitality zones and experience the tournament in style.
The VidantaWorld Mexico Open will be the centerpiece of a full week of experiences at VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit, a destination spanning more than 2,400 acres, with nearly 3,000 keys, more than 30 food and beverage venues and an ever-growing lineup of dining and entertainment.
The week gets started before the first round even tees off. On Tuesday, October 27, Robbie Williams will take the stage at VidantaWorld as part of the VidantaWorld Concert Series, kicking off a week where sports and entertainment share the spotlight.
Throughout the week, visitors can also enjoy Cirque du Soleil LUDŌ, the resident show created exclusively for VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit and performed in a theater built just for it, with 360-degree staging where water takes center stage.
The 2026 edition also falls on Día de Muertos weekend, bringing Mexican culture, cuisine and traditions to the destination in a celebration shared with players and visitors from around the world.
And in one of this year's biggest entertainment highlights, guests will be part of the Private Soft Opening of BON Luxury Theme Park during tournament week.
BON is one of the most important chapters in the evolution of VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit: a world inspired by the beauty of nature, where imagination, technology, dining and attractions come together to celebrate Mexico from an entirely new perspective.
"Golf will be at the heart of it all, but around it, there's an entire destination to explore. In a single week, we'll welcome Robbie Williams, enjoy Cirque du Soleil LUDŌ, celebrate Día de Muertos and offer a first look at BON Luxury Theme Park. It captures where VidantaWorld is headed: destinations where hospitality, dining, sports and entertainment come together in one experience," said José Alonso, Director of Development, VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit.
With a field of champions, established players and rising stars; a new routing; hospitality designed to bring fans closer to the competition; and a lineup of music, culture and entertainment, the 2026 VidantaWorld Mexico Open continues to grow as a true destination experience on the PGA Tour calendar.
From October 26 to November 1, VidantaWorld Vallarta–Nuevo Nayarit will bring together world-class golf, hospitality, dining and entertainment in a week made to be enjoyed far beyond the course.
